You don’t have to carry the weight of our changing world alone.
What is a Climate Aware Therapist?
Being a climate-aware therapist means I recognize that the climate crisis affects not only our planet, but also our mental and emotional well-being. Many people carry feelings of anxiety, grief, or dread about our changing world - and these feelings are valid.
In our work together, I offer a compassionate space where you can explore these emotions without judgment. I help you make sense of the complex mix of personal, social, and existential challenges the climate crisis brings, and support you in finding resilience, meaning, and grounded ways of moving forward.
Climate Cafe of East Tennessee
Climate Cafés are free 90-minute gatherings which focus on climate-related emotions because we know that when we engage in meaningful conversation and action in the context of a community, we grow our capacity to serve something bigger than ourselves.
Being human has always involved persisting through danger and uncertainty. By embracing our wholeness & our love for nature, plants and animals, and humanity in the face of great loss, our grief can empower us to envision & hope for a better future for all.
Too often, our grief and anxiety around climate change lacks the community awareness, support, and rituals that would help us build resiliency. Now more than ever, we need places & spaces to share our heavy emotions, our concerns, our hopes, and our dreams.
This event takes place on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at The Philosopher's House in Johnson City, TN and is facilitated by Registered Climate Therapist, Chelsea Green, MA, LPC, CPA-NA.
